Thana City
Rain. Neon. The TTS overhead. A sleek, wet, dark city that feels alive.
"You can't be lonely here… Well, not unless you really want to be."

said DOOR-krah
Dor'KrA comes from the Irish word dorcha, which just means dark.
It draws in sound, tempo and vibration that is out of sync, rogue, not quite right — and makes it flesh.
By human standards it is a nightmare. But nothing there is really evil.

Not a place with music in it. A place that is the music.
Rhythm not as a metaphor. As physics. They don't have rhythm. They are rhythm — the way a wave isn't water that's moving, it's the moving itself.
They sense through it, drawn to registers that match their own, the way a tuning fork answers its note and not the one beside it.
In Thana, resonance is music — the tempo, the rhythm, the beat you feel in your chest.

said DRUM-lukh — the spine of Dor'KrA. Nothing goes near it but the Tarsak.
Something is on the spine. It should not be.

Kwev'NoRr. It sits at the base of the Drom'LaKh.
Nobody has ever seen it. Nobody has ever spoken to it.
At the base it slumbers. As it has for an age now.

Nothing goes near the spine but them. It leaves a mark.

the Rot.

the mountain range.

the Ash plains.

Ou'FaSs
One tier below the Tarsak. Orange eyes, and a tongue too long for its mouth.
Its signal has changed lately.

Ku'FaRn
It rules the open land. Armoured in spines, it moves through Dor'KrA the way weather does.
You feel its howl before you hear it.

Fee'DraH'Ku
It owns the canopy. You won't see it.
You'll see the claw. You'll hear the branches after.

Tin'VaraK
It lives in the heat of Munn'Tair, the Ash plains.
When it feeds, the fire goes in, not out.

S'hunRyx
It waits below the surface.

NAH'guL
A wyrm of the high peaks of Sli'Bhlum. It lives where the land has ruptured. A mouth at the top. Another where its heart should be.

Ka'aale'Ka is inspired by Irish, reshaped for Dor'KrA. Apostrophes mark pauses; capitals indicate emphasis.
DrK and Dor'KrA are the same word. Dorcha. Dark.
